BCi’s VoD & IPTV Test Lab - a digital broadcasting Eco System

BCi’s VoD & IPTV test lab based in Southampton offers BCi and our clients access to a representative broadcast, VoD and IPTV platform for projects such as product development, testing and systems integration. Clients can take advantage of a pre integrated ‘end to end’ environment built up from industry standard elements or plug in the new elements necessary for a client preferred configuration.

VoD & IPTV Lab Location

The VoD & IPTV Test Lab infrastructure is located in the prestigious Southampton Science Park which is co-located with many other industry leaders such as Sky and Siemens. This location benefits from excellent facilities and is conveniently located adjacent to Southampton Airport and the M27/M3 motorway network.

System Overview

• Consists of a Head End, Network and Client

• The platform supports IP, Satellite, Cable, Terrestrial and Mobile environments.

• Encoding and decoding utilising industry standards such as MPEG-2, H.264 and VC-1

• High bandwidth and redundant network utilising standards such as ASI, ATM, GBe at the core
